Jupiter Reenters Capricorn

July 30, 2009

We are not out of the woods yet, my friends. Our three month respite with Jupiter having moved into Aquarius is officially over on July 30th when he reenters Capricorn and remains there until December 19th. To some extent, things have improved over the past three months in many sectors of national and international economies. You can review my original accurate predictions of the devastating effects of Jupiter’s entry into Capricorn in conjunction with Rahu if you visit these two links:

We now face an even greater challenge financially and economically since Jupiter is currently in retrograde or reverse motion until October 12th. Since Jupiter represents finances, cash flow, money, economy, banking, the stock exchange, etc., this malevolent Jupiter will likely wreak havoc all over again but with greater vehemence this time round. The dates to bear in mind delineating this critical period are from July 30th to October 12th, about 2 1/2 months in duration.

I don’t wish to repeat what I have already discussed in the three articles mentioned above. But rather, I would take you in different direction and perhaps, a higher perspective that will offer a little more insight. In Vedic understanding, there are two opposing forces in the universe that are reflected in the world of duality in which we live. They are rich/poor, black/white, right/wrong, greedy/charitable, good/evil, etc. These are the opposing forces. There is a constant struggle going on between these opposing forces for dominance in our world and each may gain the upper hand at different times. The Suras are beings of greater consciousness and awareness. They are concerned with the welfare and well-being of all living entities — humans and animals. The Asuras are beings who act out of self-interest, greed and manipulation. They don’t really care about the well-being of others. They only care about their own desires and the expansion of their control over others at any cost.

Wealth is meant to be used, not hoarded. It is meant to shared, to be given to those in need, and not plundered from those who have gained their wealth through honest effort and fulfillment of their duty to society. Like the waters of a river, wealth is meant to flow, from one person to another, from one place to another, from one purpose to another. The Asuras want to hoard wealth and keep it for themselves. They don’t want to share it or use it for the benefit of all. They do not respect the rights of others. They will take as much as they can get for themselves no matter how much this may cause others to suffer or to do without. The Suras never hoard wealth or keep it for themselves. But they distribute it for the benefit of all. The Asuras choose to damn up the river of wealth. The Suras strive to keep the river of wealth ever-flowing and free from obstacles. All persons who live downstream must benefit from the flow of wealth.

Many of our current economic problems that we are facing are due to the Asuras who have the upper hand in our world at this time. Their greed and manipulation has brought on many of the negative effects that we have been experiencing collectively. They even managed to get us to bail them out of the dire circumstances caused by their over-arching greed and avarice. How’s that for masterminding manipulation?! This mythic battle between the the light and the darkness, the Suras and the Asuras, goes on eternally in the material world. And the darker forces or Asuras, clearly have the dominant position at this time. Unless we take significant steps toward our own greater truth and honesty as individuals, we cannot expect the world as a whole to move in the direction of truth and integrity. We must take some responsibility for having such people in positions of power and authority over us. Why don’t we have more people in these positions who reflect honesty and integrity? Why do we believe, perhaps unconsciously, that we deserve to be exploited by such people? And when will we have the courage of our convictions so that people like us are placed in these positions of power and authority? When Jupiter returns to Aquarius on December 19th (as it has been throughout May, June and July), maybe we will be willing to exert a greater effort toward this end?
