Total Lunar Eclipse, June 15th 2011

On June 15, 2011, we will experience a total lunar eclipse. It will take place on the full moon (purnima). Eclipses of the Moon always occur on the full moon. The Moon will be in Sagittarius in the constellation (nakshatra) of Mula according to Vedic astrological calculation.

Partial Lunar Eclipse, Dec 31, 2009

The last eclipse of 2009 coincidentally takes place on New Years Eve, December 31st. It is a Partial Lunar Eclipse and a minor one at that. It will be visible primarily from the Eastern Hemisphere of our beautiful planet. The eclipse will occur from 17.07 until 21.28 hours, Greenwich Time. The point of maximum eclipse will occur at 19.23 hours.

Eclipsing the Moon will be the North Node or Dragon’s Head, Rahu, in the latter degrees of Capricorn. This eclipse will occur in the constellation of Dhanistha according to Vedic Astrological calculation. Dhanistha is a constellation that generally brings danger and disturbance and its ruler is Mars.

Jupiter Enters Sagittarius
